Nationalpark Amboseli

Welcome to Amboseli National Park
The Amboseli National Park, whose name means "salty dust", offers an unparalleled safari experience. On a clear day, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro (5,895 m in Tanzania) as herds of elephants and other wildlife graze against its stunning backdrop.
Amboseli National Park:
✔ Name: Means "salty dust"
✔ Elevation: Average of 1,700 m, with Ol Doinyo Orok at the Tanzanian border reaching 2,760 m
✔ Size: At 390 km², it is one of Kenya's smallest national parks
✔ Scenic highlight: Unrivaled views of Mount Kilimanjaro
✔ Culture: Home to the Maasai people
Recommended Safari Combination:
✔ Taita Hills and Tsavo West National Park: Located about 250 km southeast of Amboseli, covering 9,065 km², this region is famous for leopards, cheetahs, and rhinos.
✔ Best Travel Route: To minimize travel time, we recommend a combined safari, traveling from Tsavo East via Taita Hills to Amboseli.
➡️ This route is easily manageable in stages with a 4x4 Jeep.
➡️ If you prefer to visit Amboseli directly from Diani Beach (without Tsavo / without Taita Hills), we strongly recommend taking a safari flight (1h 20 min vs. 13 hours by car).
Travel Planning and Transport:
✔ Travel in stages: The journey to the Tsavo East, Taita Hills, and Amboseli National Parks can be comfortably completed in multiple stages with a 4x4 Jeep.
✔ Return journey: Due to the long distance to Diani, we recommend taking a safari flight from Amboseli, which only takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Prices and Booking:
✔ Entrance Fees: National park entry fees may change in 2025, but they are already included in our travel packages. So, there will be no unpleasant surprises.
